Are you an aspiring restaurateur on a budget? Well then this contest might be for you. Today Miami's Arts + Entertainment District along with The New Tropic announced the launch of A+Eats: The Search for Miami’s Next Great Restaurant Concept dubbed as, "a community-driven contest aimed at discovering Miami’s next ‘it’ restaurant." And the winning concepts receives a space to house their 'it' restaurant rent-free for a year in the district — the same area that houses restaurants like Mignonette and Fooq's.
So here's how you and your future restaurant concept can get into the mix. Between August 10 and August 31, contestants can to fill out and submit an online application about their proposed restaurant concept, which will be judged on three criteria: originality, know-how and community. The final five candidates will be invited to compete in a live cookoff event on October 17, 2015 and the winning concept, "selected by a cross-disciplinary panel of community constituents and special guests," will receive a restaurant space rent-free for one year and starting in early 2016.
