Livability.com, a site that examines cities based on how livable they are, just released a list of the most "foodie cities" in America and Coral Gables landed the top spot on this year's list.
How'd they come about with this figure? Well according to their press release they first looked at "Census data to find cities with high concentrations of restaurants and bars" and areas that "residents choose to eat at independent restaurants rather than chains or fast-food establishments" and also took into account things like "adult obesity rate" in the cities.
Then they looked at factors like "like James Beard Award winners, Michelin stars" (which Coral Gables has none) to determine the caliber of the restaurants before making final the foodie city list. Check out all the winners this way.
