The Broken Shaker Named a Finalist for the Spirited Awards

Miami's bar scene is finally getting some recognition on the national stage. The Broken Shaker, located inside Miami Beach's Freehand Hotel, has been nominated as a "Top Four Finalist" in the American Hotel Bar category for this year's 9th Annual Spirited Awards — a first for any bar in Miami, or Florida for that matter.

The awards ceremony is hosted at the annual Tales of the Cocktail event, which happens next week in New Orleans. The awards ceremony has been dubbed the "Oscars" of the cocktail world and since 2007, "has recognized the year’s best bars, bartenders, writers and experts," voted on by a panel of 100 "industry experts."
