While it may not feel like "Fall" here in always hot South Florida, the seasons are changing. (Or so we hear.) And with the change comes a whole slew of nbeakew restaurants we have to look forward to in the upcoming months. Check out our top picks below.


MIAMI BEACH

NaiYara Interior

NAIYARA

Location: 1854 Bay Road, Miami Beach

Key Players: Chef Bee

Projected Opening: October

Former Khong River chef Piyarat Arreeratn — aka Chef Bee — is back on South Beach, this time with his own concept. At NaiYaRa he'll be bringing contemporary Asian street fare to the popular neighborhood of Sunset Harbor.

Izzy's Fish & Oyster Bar

Location: 423 Washington Avenue, Miami Beach

Key Players: William Crandall and Tongue and Cheek's Jamie DeRosa

Projected Opening: September

An ode to coastal New England seafood – and his daughter Isabella – Jamie DeRosa's new 40-seater spot will serve up, you guessed it, plenty of oysters along with other signature dishes like clam chowder and clams at this seafood-centric restaurant.

Location: Thompson Miami Beach Hotel

Key Players: Dale Talde

Projected Opening: "Fall"

Another NYC transplant making its way to Miami is the popular Brooklyn eatery, Talde inside the Thompson Miami Beach Hotel. The namesake restaurant of Top Chef alum Dale Talde it'll feature many of the same dishes that it's NYC counterpoint like dumplings and fried chicken.

Faena Hotels Restaurants

Location: 3201 Collins Ave., Miami Beach

Key Players: Paul Qui, Francis Mallmann, Gabriel Ask

Projected Opening: Late November

This splashy hotel newcomer will feature a food and beverage program by Thomas Keller trained chef Gabriel Ask and yet-to-be named restaurant concept from Austin's Paul Qui and a Los Fuegos from Argentine chef Francis Mallmann.

Projected Opening: October

Aiming to provide "fine food served fast" to the masses with a "vegetable forward menu." Think savory oatmeal; egg bowls filled with vegetables, grains, and proteins; cold-pressed juices and smoothies served for breakfast, lunch and dinner daily.

BaZÍ

Location: 1200 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach

Key Players: Macchialina Taverna Rustica's Michael Pirolo and Jen Chaefsky

Projected Opening: September

The team behind one of Miami's top Italian joints are now trying their hand at Asian cuisine. This 100-seater restaurant inside the Marlin Hotel will feature "classic dishes" from all over Asia.

Location: 1500 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach

Key Players: Spike Mendelsohn

Projected Opening: Early "Fall"

Following the wave of Top Chef alums making their way to Miami, DC-based Spike Mendelsohn is following suit opening his first concept in the Sunshine State called Sunny's, named after his grandfather. Located inside the new The Hall hotel it'll feature an all-day menu inspired by "beach culture" around the world.

Projected Opening: October

This is the second outpost for the Meditterean restaurant, which opened its first location in Delray earlier this year. It is described as a "progressive Mediterranean" restaurant and bar, and will feature a contemporary menu, inspired by the countries that make up the area.

BEAKER & GRAY

Location: 2637 N. Miami Ave., Miami

Key Players: Ben Potts and Brian Nasajon

Projected Opening: September

Blackbird Ordinary and Broken Shaker bartender Ben Potts is bringing a proper cocktail bar to Wynwood. But drinks aren't the only thing on the menu, executive chef and Sushi Samba alum Brian Nasajon will be creating small shareable plates to go with the libations.

PAULIE GEE'S

Location: 8001 Biscayne Blvd, Miami

Key Players: Paulie Gee

Projected Opening: Fall-ish

Popular Brooklyn pizzeria is, like many NYC restaurants, making its way down to Miami. Taking over a former Chinese restaurant space on Biscayne, it'll serve up many of the classic pies that made Paulie Gee's so popular along with dishes created with the Miami market in mind.

PHUC YEA

Location: 7100 Biscayne Blvd, Miami

Key Players: Cesar Zapata and Aniece Meinhold

Projected Opening: Early September

Miami's first pop up restaurant finally has a permanent location. Taking over the former Moonshine Asian space on Biscayne, it'll start up where the temporary restaurant left off serving up its most popular dishes like pork riblets and oodles of noodles.


DOWNTOWN MIAMI/BRICKELL

QUINTO LA HUELLA

Location: 788 Brickell Plaza, Miami

Key Players: Alejandro Morales, Martín Pittaluga, Gustavo Barbero,Guzmán Artagaveytia’s

Projected Opening: By end of year

Opening inside the new EAST Hotel in Brickell City Center, it's an offshoot of a popular restaurant in Uruguay, La Huella, with dishes centering around the Parrilla grill.

EL TUCAN

Location: 1111 SW First Avenue, Miami

Key Players: Jean Paul Lourdes, Mathieu Massa and Michael Ridard

Projected Opening: October

A "Latin-inspired cabaret," designed to be an intimate, theater like setting outfitted with crystal chandeliers, gold-framed mirrors and crushed velvet accents, will open up right next door to sister restaurant Marion.

MARION

Location: 1111 SW First Avenue, Miami

Key Players: Jean Paul Lourdes, Mathieu Massa and Michael Ridard

Projected Opening: September 14

A modern "Mediterranean restaurant and market" that will feature fare from all over the region with plenty of outdoor seating and cocktails created by the Bar Lab guys.

PB STATION

Location: 121 SE First St., Miami

Key Players: The Pubbelly Boys

Projected Opening: November 1

The Pubbelly Restaurant empire is finally making its way to mainland Miami with the opening of PB Station. Housed inside the soon-to-be open Langford Hotel, it'll serve up shareable plates that the Pubbelly guys have built their reputation on.

Bachour Bakery & Bistro

Location: 600 Brickell Avenue, Miami

Key Players: Antonio Bachour and Henry Hané

Projected Opening: October/November

A 40-seat "progressive" bakery and bistro concept from the popular pastry chef Antonio Bachour. It'll a variety of breakfast and lunch items, along with Bachour's signature pastries.

zest/Zest Mrkt

Location: 200 South Biscayne Blvd, Miami

Key Players: Cindy Hutson and Delius Shirley

Projected Opening: November

Cindy Hutson is bringing her "Cuisine of the Sun" to Downtown Miami. Zest MRKT features food of the "grab and go" variety and is open for breakfast and lunch. Zest will be the higher-end dining that we are used to from Huston, housed in a 3,500-square-foot restaurant.

Laffa Mediterranean kitchen

Location: 1250 South Miami Avenue, Miami

Key Players: Sam Gorenstein, Roger Duarte, Daniel Ganem

Projected Opening: September

From the team behind My Ceviche comes their newest concept, Laffa Mediterranean Kitchen, which will be conveniently located next door to the Brickell My Ceviche outpost. The restaurant will offer a menu of grilled vegetables and proteins seasoned with Mediterranean spices and served in the same build-your-own style that My Ceviche is known for.


COCONUT GROVE/SOUTH MIAMI

Projected Opening: December

Situated inside Coconut Grove’s Peacock Park comes the newest restaurant concept from Giorgio Rapicavoli. The garden-style, contemporary American eatery situatied inside Coconut Grove's Peacock Park will overlook the park, have a full service bar and a walkup counter for visitors

Location: 2911 Grand Avenue, Suite 400 D, Coconut Grove

Key Players: Matt Kuscher

Projected Opening:

Burger aficionado Matt Kuscher, the man behind neighboring LoKal and Kush, comes what he describes as "seafood version of Lokal," with a menu filled with local seafood, wine, ciders, and meat. Like his other Coconut Grove spot there will also be plenty of outdoor, pet-friendly seating.

Farinelli 1937

Location: 2901 Commodore Plaza, Coconut Grove

Key Players: Maurizio Farinelli

Projected Opening: Fall

Jumping on the wood-fired pizza trend is Farinelli in the Grove. From the same owners as the neighboring Strada in the Grove, the restaurant will not only serve an assortment of pizzas but salads, pastas and drinks.

SPRING CHICKEN

Location: 1514 South Dixie Highway, Miami

Key Players: 50 Eggs, John Kunkel

Projected Opening: Fall

The team behind Yardbird Southern and Swine are launching a fast-casual fried chicken concept based on the recipes that shot them to fame in Miami. The concept, based on the Lewellyn's Fine Fried Chicken and Mama's Biscuits, will serve chicken, biscuits and sides inspired by Kunkel's grandmother's original recipes.
