For those who have been in Miami for a while, you are probably rather nostalgic about Velvet Creme Doughnuts, the Miami-based doughnut brand who's shop on 8th Street stood for more than 50 years.
Due to personal issues with ownership both the 8th Street location and its second location across from UM closed in 2000, but people certainly haven't forgotten about the brand. And over the weekend, local blogger Burger Beast reported that the doughnuts will finally have a permanent home again at 8291 NE 2nd Avenue.
No word on when the store might officially open, but until it does you can find the food truck version of the shop rolling around the streets and showing up at various food truck rallies around town. Find out where it will be next here. [Burger Beast]
