Miami’s culinary world was elated when North Miami favorite and Eater 38 member Cake Thai Kitchen announced a new location in Wynwood — and by the looks of things on Instagram the location is close to being open.
Cake Thai’s business partner Javier Ramirez tells Eater Miami that they are currently working on the floors in the new restaurant space located at 180 NW 29th Street and “optimistically will be opening” the first week of November if everything goes to plan.
The new 1,300 square foot location will have seating for 30 plus air conditioning AND a bathroom — two features the current Cake Thai doesn’t have. Another new addition will be a beer and wine menu, which will feature an assortment of craft beers and large selection of white wines, champagnes and sparkling varieties.
But Ramirez was quick to point out the Cake Thai Wynwood location will have the same menu and will be priced very similarly as its North Miami counterpart.
“It’s a better Cake, not a new Cake,” adds Ramirez.
When it does open it will serves lunch and dinner from the start Ramirez notes. As for the current Cake Thai location? That’ll close for a month-long repair and revamp once the Wynwood location open its doors, to make it look on brand with the new location, but will still remain a Cake Thai restaurant.
Stay tuned for an official opening date.
