That’s a headline you don’t see every day

The man behind concepts like Sakaya Kitchen and Blackbrick, Richard Hales, has debuted his latest restaurant concept: Bird & Bone. Decidedly different from his other two Asian-inspired eateries, this one has a Southern slant featuring Nashville Hot Chicken amongst many other south of the Mason Dixon line specialties.

Currently open for breakfast and dinner inside the Confidante Hotel at 4041 Collins Ave, dishes include a rotating “Bone of the Day” and “Bird of the Day,” plus other plates like Slow Roasted Lamb Ribs with White BBQ Sauce, Charred Cauliflower; and snacks like Deviled Ham, Smoked Potato & Egg Salad, Pimento Cheese and Oxtail with Benne Seed Wafers.

Once the restaurant opens for full service early next year, it’ll feature a market with coffee, biscuits and jellies, salads, sandwiches, and speciality goods.

The 7 a.m. to noon, and dinner from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday to Thursday, and 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Call 305-424-1234 for more info.
