Junior’s Restaurant – the iconic NYC eatery that has a cult-like following for its cheesecake – is following suit of most New Yorkers and taking up a residence in South Florida. Or Boca Raton to be exact. According to the Miami New Times, the eatery is opening its first location in the southeast at Mizner Park in Boca Raton this September.
The almost 200-item menu will feature many similarities to its New York City counterparts, including its world-famous cheesecake that has been a staple on the menu since the 1950s. As for the rest of the items, expect plenty of diner fare like pastrami, corned beef, sirloin steak, and so on. Its owner Alan Rosner also alludes that if this location goes well, South Florida could see more Junior’s in the works and its cheesecake available for sale in local grocery stores like Publix. But only time will tell on that front. Stay tuned for more updates. [Miami New Times]
