There’s no shortage of restaurants South of Fifth, but the area always seems welcome to more. Enter French 27, which quietly opened last week. The restaurant is named after the 27 regions of France, which it promises is all represented on its menu. Expect classic French fare on the menu like Escargots Tartiflette, French Onion Soup, Duck Confit, Steak Frites and plenty of fresh seafood towers. As for beverages, lots of bubbles are featured along with French rose wine and Absienthe. As for décor, in true brasserie style, the space is decorated with soft lighting, a fountain filled with fresh rose petals, and other "charming décor." French 27 is located at 850 Commerce Street and is open Sunday to Thursday 6 till 11 p.m. and Friday and Saturdays 6 p.m. until midnight. For reservations call 305-764-3948.
