Ortanique on the Mile’s Cindy Hutson Debuts Her New Restaurant, Zest

In downtown Miami

Zest

Today is the day. Longtime South Florida chef Cindy Hutson finally opens the doors to her newest concept Zest tonight in downtown Miami’s Southeast Financial Center at 200 South Biscayne Boulevard.

The popular chef has made a name for herself for her Floribbean cuisine in Coral Gables at longstanding restaurant Ortanique on the Mile, and the same type of flavors are to be found at Zest. On the menu expect dishes like curried octopus, conch scampi, surf n’ turf ravioli and root beer braised pork belly, created by Hutson and her chef de cuisine, Mike Fischetti.

The bar program promises “to be one of downtown Miami’s most exciting places to imbibe.” Drinks are made with fresh juices, house made syrups, infusions and fresh picked garnishes. And cigar lovers rejoice, an on-site humidor houses a variety of cigars for guests to enjoy on the terrace.

The 4,500-square-foot space features an open kitchen, “living green walls” and a massive glass wine cellar. The fast-casual concept Zest MRKT plans to open in March.

Zest is now open Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and for dinner Monday through Wednesday from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Thursday through Saturday from 5:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. with brunch service in the works.
