Vegans and raw food lovers now have a high-end restaurant to go get their grub on at the now open Plant Food + Wine.
The concept is the brainchild of chef and restaurateur Matthew Kenney, who is best known for his vegan and raw creations. The restaurant already has a location in Southern California, and for its East Coast outpost it is appropriately located inside healthy living complex, The Sacred Space Miami.
Expect a lot of vegan-ized versions of classic restaurant eats such as a “flora” cheeseboard with options like smoked cheddar and white truffle cashew-made “cheese,” watermelon poke, zucchini lasagna, banana leaf tamales and coconut “ceviche” tacos prepared by the restaurant’s director of culinary operations, Scott Winegard.
We are still in Miami after all, so of course there will be an “extensive bar” that serves seasonal cocktails, sake and “biodynamic” wine along with juices and “detox beverages.”
The restaurant space coincides with Kenney’s new culinary academy also housed inside The Sacred Space, which opened earlier this year and teaches “state-of-the-art” raw cooking techniques. The restaurant is now open daily for lunch and dinner starting at 11:30 a.m. Call 305-814-5365 for more information.
