After three years, one of the leaders of the Michael's Genuine Food & Drink kitchen, Niven Patel, will serve his last day in the kitchen on April 10, according to the Miami New Times. Patel served as chef de cuisine of the popular James Beard award winning restaurant, which just celebrated its ninth year in business over the weekend. The New Times is reporting that the chef plans to open a "vegetable-centric, Indian-leaning restaurant to open in Miami sometime in the future," but until then will take over the kitchen at Islamorada's Cheeca Lodge. While Michael's Genuine searches for a replacement Bradley Herron, executive chef of the Genuine Hospitality Group, will take over his spot. [Miami New Times]
