The Guys Behind Ariete Debut Nostalgic American Cocktail Lounge and Eatery, Baby Jane

Duck and foie gras croquetas and lots of cocktails

Baby Jane

A new speakeasy and restaurant officially opens its doors tonight in Brickell. Called Baby Jane, it gives a nod to all things Americana, and it is the latest creation from the hospitality group behind Ariete, helmed by Sidebar’s Jason Odio and Cypress Room alum, Michael Beltran, along with nightlife honcho Roman Jones.

Housed inside the 500 Brickell building it features a variety of food and beverages with an old school American feel. On the food side, think elevated bar grub like grilled wings in a soy caramel sauce, duck and foie gras croquetas, tacos made with short rib pastrami, along with heartier dishes like a "Pig Stack" burger made with two pork patties and BBQ chicken thighs.

To wash all that food down with is plenty of libations focusing on dozens of housemade bitters, tonics and shrubs, and "ever changing" punch board, plus local beers on tap and by the bottle and lots of wines.

The restaurant’s décor keeps with the born in the U.S.A. feel with brick walls, fireplace, church pew seats, elk horns on the walls, a tile bar and full-ceiling mural along with an outdoor patio complete with seating for 20.  Baby Jane is now open Sunday from noon to 3 a.m. and Friday and Saturday from noon until 5 a.m. For more information call 786-803-8004.
