The News Lounge Closes For “Extreme Renovations” and New Concept

Longtime MiMo lounge, The News Lounge, has shuttered in order to make way for a new concept and "extreme renovations" the Miami New Times reports.

Yesterday management took to the The News Lounge’s Facebook to post the following statement:

Friends and Family, the rumors are true. After six years of bringing you the best ‪#‎HappyHour‬ in town, we will be closing for business. Sunday was our last day open. We will be going through extreme renovations; a new name, new menu, new concept. We're excited! And you should be too! So from the bottom of our hearts --- Thanks for the memories, and thank you for your patronage.

For the new and improved space the News Lounge owners have partnered up with the owners from Wynwood’s El Patio to help give it a new look and new vibe. The revamping will take two months or so, according to the New Times, and the lounge plans to debuting its new concept and menu at a later date. Stay tuned for updates. [Miami New Times]
