Federal Donuts Opening a Location in Wynwood

Popular Philly-based doughnut and fried chicken joint is flying south

Doughnut mania has finally hit Miami. After months of speculation, Philadelphia-based Federal Donuts, which serves gourmet doughnuts and Korean-style fried chicken created by chef Michael Solomonov, confirmed today that it is opening a location in Wynwood. The leasing team behind the deal, Thor Equities, made the announcement that shop will open its first South Florida outpost at 250 NW 24th Street.

The 305 location of the popular fried dough and chicken shop, lovingly (?) called FedNuts in some circles, will take over a 2,200-square-foot space in the up-and-coming neighborhood and serve an array of classic and unique doughnuts along with fried chicken topped with a variety of seasonings like za’tar and coconut curry.  Federal Donuts, which has been known for having a cult-like following with lines constantly out the door since its inception in 2011, is currently in expansion mode with a just announced location in Nashville and now Miami. It currently has five locations in its hometown of Philly. No opening date has been released yet. Stay tuned for more updates.
