Laurent Tourondel Plans Two More Food Concepts for The Betsy South Beach

More details are emerging about the two new concepts mega-chef Laurent Tourondel is opening in The Betsy South Beach hotel this fall. As we reported earlier, BLT Steak has already transformed into LT Steak & Seafood, but not much else was known about about the other two concepts he was planning to debut.

First is the pizza concept, Poeti, opening in October. It’s described as is "a trattoria-style Italian restaurant" with a menu of "Italian classics" like pastas, charcuterie and antipasti, and brick-oven pizzas with "unique" toppings. Also on deck is a grab-and-go area that will sell sandwiches, salads and breakfast items.

The other concept, which has yet to be given a name, will showcase a menu with crepes and ice-cream, served in a "restored alleyway" between Collins Avenue and Ocean Drive. Also set to debut in October, it will be a walk-up spot that will serve sweet crepes and house-made ice-cream with plenty of toppings. All concepts are housed inside the hotel at 1440 Ocean Drive.
