As we hinted to last week, Niven Patel, the former chef de cuisine at Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink, is opening his own concept later this year in Downtown Dadeland at 8945 SW 72nd Place.

Called Ghee Indian Kitchen, it’s set to debut in December right next door to almost open Barley in the up-and-coming complex. The restaurant owned by Patel and his wife Shivani, will feature Indian-inspired cuisine showcasing produce from the couple’s own two-acre Homestead farm like colocasia leaves, purple potato, ivy gourd, fenugreek leaf, curry leaf and a variety of homegrown herb blends and spices.

Ghee will also feature a beverage program filled with handcrafted sodas made with fresh pressed sugar cane and a "diverse selection of flavors.”

No specifics on the actual space itself have been released. Stay tuned for more details.
