A Quaint French Diner Quietly Opens on Coral Way

From the former owners of Le Royal in South Miami

Coral Way is filled with plenty of Latin eateries, but its most recent newcomer is bucking that trend. Called Café Croissant, it serves simple French cuisine in a small, diner-type setting by the French twin brothers who used to own Le Royal in South Miami.

Open for breakfast and lunch daily, it displays a variety of house-made pastries in the front of the store that range from the namesake croissant to a healthy, whole-wheat muffin. Patrons have the option of taking their meal to-go or grabbing a seat at the massive counter inside the restaurant. The rest of the menu reads like a classic French bistro with simple offerings such as quiche lorraine, croque monsieur, omelets and a variety of sandwiches. Coffee, juices and house-made pastries like crème brûlée, fruit tarts and chocolate mousse are also on hand.

The restaurant is now open Monday to Saturday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays until 3 p.m. at 1684 Coral Way. Call 786-717-7212 for more information.
