Copper29 Brings a Modern Speakeasy to the Gables

In the former Ticety Iced Tea Bar spot

Coral Gables isn’t exactly known for its thriving bar scene, but it seems as if the tides are changing in the area. Enter Copper29 Bar, a classic speakeasy libation den in the location that once held Ticety Iced Tea Bar.

The bar menu was created by former La Mar beverage manager Eleftherios Kraounakis (aka Lef), and features a variety of signature cocktails that are broken down on the menu by flavor profile, preparation style and even mention what glass it’ll be served in. As an ode to its namesake, copper, it even gives the chemical formula of the spirit in the beverage. But if you’d rather have the bartender create a custom beverage for you on the spot, that can be done as well.

Owned and operated by Fernando Ferro, Yiannis Sotiropoulos and Makis Paliouras, in addition to Lef, who also are the team behind Crema Espresso Bar. The space kept the signature "living wall" that Ticety was famous for, but added speakeasy touches like dark wood bar tops, chandeliers and copper details.

The space also houses a full kitchen with a menu serving up 12 different small plates, that are meant to be eaten with drinks. Think bar snacks like shortrib flatbreads, sliders, guacamole and ceviche.

The bar is now open daily from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. at 206 Miracle Mile with happy hour and ladies night specials available. Call 786-580-4689 for more information.
