UPDATED [8/10/16] Wynwood Yard has officially reopened today after closing August 2 due to health and safety concerns related to the Zika outbreak in the area.

Reps tell Eater that management chose to get all employees of the Wynwood Yard tested for Zika after the outbreak occurred and "that one team member was confirmed positive for Zika."

The reps go on to tell us in a statement that they have since added "stringent new mosquito mitigation measures, the installation of a state-of-the-art Mosquito Nix system, and further employee training." They will continue to follow the CDC guidelines and work closely, but all scheduled programming and businesses inside the complex are up and running once again.

Unless you've been living under a rock the past few days, you've probably heard Zika has made its way to the United States, infecting 14 people so far in the Wynwood area. And just yesterday, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issued its first ever travel warning for a neighborhood within the United States advising pregnant women and their partners not to visit the area.

On the heels of this announcement outdoor food yard and activity venue The Wynwood Yard, which is located smack dab in the middle of the breakout, has decided to close its doors temporarily. According to a rep for the venue:

Upon weighing the new advisory by the CDC of new Zika cases and due to the 100% outdoor nature of The Wynwood Yard, we decided to take a pause in an abundance of caution in order to better assess preparedness. Until we have more information, in order to make sure we are providing most comfortable and secure environment we possibly can to our team and guests, The Wynwood Yard will be closed.

The venue located at 56 NW 29th Street is current home to food concepts food concepts like della test kitchen, Myumi, Kuenko, The British Garden, Mortar and Pistil and Mr. Bing. Stay tuned for more updates.
