We understand that fall is more of an "idea" here in South Florida than an actual season, but as things (slightly) cool down, restaurant openings certainly heat up. Here's the restaurants to put on your radar this fall.

Employees Only

WHO: Bill Gilroy, Granville Adams and Danilo Bozovic WHAT: Famed New York City Cocktail Bar Employees Only -- widely credited with the revival of prohibition era cocktails -- is slated to open in the historic Coral House at Washington Park Hotel complete with its signature chicken noodle soup. Kiki on The River

WHO: Former Opium Group honcho Roman Jones, former Philippe Chow Managing Partner Aris Nanos and executive chef Steve Rhee, who helped open Milos WHAT: A Greek spot featuring a moderately priced menu offering a bit more on an "approachable option" on the Miami River WHERE: 450 Northwest South River Drive WHEN: October 2016

Bakehouse Brasserie

WHO: Menin Hospitality, Bernie Matz WHAT: Part French brasserie, part local bakery, Bakehouse will open for early breakfast, daily brunch, dinner and even a late night menu.It'll feature updated French classics along with items from local purveyors like Miami Smokers and Panther Coffee. LaMuse Cafe

WHO: Dmitry Prut, Dirk DeSouza and Jamie DeRosa WHAT: Modeled after European coffee shops and bistros it'll feature morning coffee service and breakfast, healthy lunch options, happy hour, dinner service and late-night dining. There will also be a small retail component including grab and go sandwiches, salads and beverages, plus delivery service to Downtown residents. Cake Thai Kitchen Wynwood

WHO: Phuket Thongsodchaveondee aka "Cake" and his mother May Mazza, Javier Ramirez, and Leo Monterrey WHAT: The cult-favorite in North Miami is making a big move to Wynwood. Expect all the classic dishes that made the restaurant a sensation, plus more seating and (hopefully) a bathroom — unlike its current location. 4 Rivers Smokehouse

WHO: John Rivers, Chef and owner WHAT: The popular BBQ establishment, which currently has 14 locations through the Sunshine State, is finally making its way to South Florida with its first location in Coral Springs. WHEN: September 9 WHERE: 2660 North University Drive, Coral Springs

WHO: Andrew Kaplan WHAT: An international Pan-Asian concept with more than 60 locations around the world, will make its U.S. debut on South Beach this fall. Setting up shop in the new SLS Brickell, it'll serve breakfast, lunch and dinner daily with dishes like caesar salad that is tossed table-side and wood-fired pizzas. WHO: José Andrés + sbe WHAT: As the name suggests, this menu will be highlighting all things seafood. Think "sea snacks" like ceviches, seaweeds, and tiraditos to an extensive raw bar to spiny lobster and Florida’s own stone crabs. Blue Ribbon Sushi Bar & Grill

WHO: Bruce and Eric Bromberg WHAT: Bringing their popular Blue Ribbon concept to Miami (they already have outposts in NYC, Las Vegas and Los Angeles) it'll feature all-day sushi inside the new Plymouth Hotel. WHEN: Fall 2016 WHERE: Plymouth Hotel, 336 21st Street

WHO: Nicolay Adinaguev, Willy Shine, Howard Wein Hospitality WHAT: A "boutique" steakhouse inside Hollywood, Florida’s Diplomat Resort & Spa, featuring plenty of prime beef aged in-house and seasonally-driven seafood dishes.
