Favorite watering hole of many, Maguires Hill 16 in Fort Lauderdale, is closing its doors for good come this Sunday, January 8, the Sun Sentinel reports.

The operator of the property, James Gregory, who’s father Jim has owned the place since 1999, cited ongoing development around the location to blame. According to him, all the areas used for parking now have residential developments on them giving patrons little places to park.

The space at 535 North Andrews Avenue, has been sold to The Restaurant People (TRP) the same team behind places like YOLO, Tarpon Bend, Sun Surf and Sand and Boatyard, according to the report. Originally they were going to keep Gregory and the 35 employees on for a “seamless transition” but that changed come last Thursday when they asked for a “full close.”

No word what the sale of the property went for or what it might turn into. Stay tuned for more details.
