Miami’s food hall boom is short of slowing down, and two much anticipated food halls — Time Out Market Miami and St. Roch — have announced some of their line ups.
Time Out Market will have 17 food concepts and three bars when it debuts in 2018 from plenty of Miami restaurant vets. Jose Mendin of Pubbelly will serve up Latin dishes like Mexican Huitlacoche and Valencian Fideua, while Executive Pastry Chef Maria Orantes — also of the Pubbelly group — will open a spot called BUHT-ER serving a variety of desserts. Michael Pirolo, the man behind Macchialina, will have a kitchen selling antipasti and ‘Grandma style' pies, while KUSH, Coyo Taco, Jugofresh and Paradigm Kitchen will all be opening outposts as well.
Over at the Design District’s St. Roch, the New Orleans import that is aiming for a December 2017 opening recently announced its first three kitchen concepts. Fernando Chang, who has worked in kitchens like 26 Sushi & Tapas and most recently the Brickell pop-up, Nisei, will open up Itamae Miami, which will feature sushi alongside Peruvian elements like guava and aji amarillo. Miami-born chef Andrew Zarzosa’s, who has done stints at Alinea and the Shangri-La in Malaysia and The Philippines, will be making cuisine inspired by his Asian travel through his new concept, Yuzu Miami. And longtime Miami event planner and caterer Yaniv Cohen will open a still to be named Israeli- Middle Eastern concept.
Stay tuned for more updates.
