Longtime soul food favorite, Jackson Soul Food, is expanding its South Florida footprint by debuting a new restaurant today on Ocean Drive, according to Miami.com. The restaurant called J950/Jackson Soul Food (1330 Ocean Drive) is taking over a large portion of The Venue and is described as mixture between the down to earth vibe of the original location meets South Beach – aka there will be a full bar.

“When you think of Jackson Soul Food, you think family and home cooking,” said Antwon Wimberly, the oldest son of Jackson Soul Food owner Shirlene Ingraham. “With my brand, you’ll have a more vibrant crowd. A younger crowd…. You walk in and you can feel it. That’s the kind of atmosphere you’ll get.”

This isn’t the first time the restaurant has opened up satellite shops, it also has locations in Hard Rock Stadium, Opa-Locka and Miami International Airport. At its South Beach location guests can expect much of the same in terms of cuisine with items like fried catfish and collard greens.

The restaurant is now open daily 8 a.m. to 5 a.m.
