Take a Look Around Michael Schwartz’s New Pizzeria, Genuine Pizza

Formerly known as Harry’s Pizza, brand has a new look and feel

The first outpost of Michael Schwartz’s newly evolved pizza concept Genuine Pizza — formerly known as Harry’s Pizzeria — officially debuts inside Aventura Mall (19501 Biscayne Blvd) today, located in the lower level, exterior of Aventura Mall’s newly opened expansion wing.

The new concept’s interior was designed by Miami-based craft and construction firm McKenzie and features light woods and accents like custom yellow and grey Cuban tile, orange chairs, and the yellow-tiled Marra Forni oven. The 125-seat space features a pizza bar fronting the open kitchen and a glass-faced active dough room.

Outdoor seating is flanked by garden planters with two pieces of art: Aventura Slide Tower – a 93-foot tall sculpture by German artist Carsten Höller that visitors will be able to slide down and Gorillas in the Mist - a fountain by The Haas Brothers comprised of three large-scale bronze gorillas and four massive bronze trees.

The core menu will stay same to Harry’s and features the same snacks, salads, daily entrées, pizzas and desserts as the orignal concept did. Following this opening, Genuine Pizza plans to roll out 18 locations in the next few years, including Atlanta (December), Cleveland and Miami Beach (2018), and Sunrise (2019). The OG Harry’s Pizzeria Design District location is set to move locations in the spring of 2018, under the Genuine Pizza name.

Genuine Pizza is open Sunday to Thursday 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m., Friday and Saturday until midnight. Call 786-472-9170 for more information.
