Celebrity chef and dapper dresser, Geoffrey Zakarian, has officially returned back to South Florida with his latest restaurant, Point Royal, located inside Hollywood’s Diplomat Beach Resort at 3555 South Ocean Drive.

The inspiration behind this restaurant outpost is “coastal American” cuisine — think a seafood heavy menu with dishes crispy oysters, braised mussels in a coconut-curry broth, shrimp and grits, whole snapper and an extensive raw bar created by executive chef Wesley True. For non-seafood lovers there also dishes like the “ugly” burger, pomegranate short ribs and lamb dishes on the menu.

The 220-seat space keeps gives off a tropical feel featuring massive ceilings, a warm color palate of golds, whites and blues, custom-made banquettes in a mix of navy and natural tones, woven dining chairs and hand-painted table tops. The outdoor seating showcases a mix of custom chairs and benches, varied in color with natural steel and woven materials, all grounded by a fireplace.

Located adjacent to the restaurant is Counter Point, opening this Thursday, which will offer a grab-and-go menu of breakfast pastries, salads and sandwiches with wine, beer and snacks, offering guests options to carry-out or dine-in, and will be open all day and every day.

Point Royal is now open daily for dinner daily with breakfast beginning on February 17 and brunch service coming soon. Call 954-602-8750 for more information.
