Following chefs on their own Instagram pages gives restaurant fans that little extra look into their lives and kitchens that most didn’t have access to just a few years ago. It’s a unique way to see where they’ve traveled and how they turn each trip into a new dish for us to experience, or the sneak peek of what’s coming up next on their menus, because everyone loves a good chef’s special.

Here’s our list of 10 Miami-based chefs — listed in no particular order — whose Instagram pages are worthy of a follow.

Richard Plasencia, @theravenouschef

If you love bacon and Nutella, this Instagram will be a dream. The Ravenous Chef’s page is dripping in sauces and duck fat with bright colors and the occasional stack of macarons. He’s got an impressive list of kitchens he’s been in including — Town Kitchen & Bar, Jake’s Gastropub, and hotels like The Conrad, The Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne, and The Biltmore Hotel. Later this month he’s opening The Twisted Fork Kitchen at The Tank Brewing Company in Doral. Check out his Instagram to see what he’s got planned.

This rising star chef — who’s worked with some of the top names in the industry including Jeremy Ford, Jeans-George Vongerichten, and Dean Max — recently teamed up with Miami nightlife veterans Angel Sanchez and Paul Brown and together they’ve opened up Commonwealth Miami, a hip hangout for the locals on Washington Avenue in South Beach. His Instagram is basically a mouthwatering live menu featuring what’s going on in his restaurant on a regular basis and we’re into it.

Miami is about to get some serious Indian food, and believe it or not, it’s going to call Kendall its home. Patel, formerly of Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink, is on the cusp of bringing Ghee Miami to life later this month. His Instagram features not only his much talked about food, but also tours of his micro-farm in Homestead where he grows and harvests almost everything he uses in his kitchen.

If you know desserts in Miami, then you’ve heard of Antonio Bachour. But you might not be familiar with his right hand in the kitchen, Karina. She’s got the behind-the-scenes peek into what goes on in the kitchen from step-by-step videos to an inside look on what’s coming up next for the bakery — it’s all laid out into a perfectly delicious Instagram feed.

Max Santiago, @chef_maxsantiago

You probably know him best from his days at The Salty Donut, but Santiago has been giving us Instagram pastry envy for way longer than that. He’s been in hotel kitchens all over the city and is currently consulting at a few spots including the new Cinebistro in Doral. His decadent dessert filled Instagram has been rocking our world for years, and while we loved watching what doughnuts were debuting each week we can’t wait to see what he comes up with next.

Diego Oka, @diegooka

Peruvian chef Diego Oka of La Mar at the Mandarin Oriental has one of the most colorful feeds on Instagram. We love stalking his well plated dishes and trips around the world that inspire his menu every season. The pictures of his adorable puppy mixed in with menu sketches makes his page one of our favorite well-rounded chef Instagrams in town.

Aaron Brooks, @chefaaronbrooks

As the official “Lambassador” of Miami, Australian-born Aaron Brooks is the master of meat we all need on our Instagram feed. The executive chef of the Four Seasons and Edge Steak & Bar in Brickell tempts us every day with his hearty dishes and barbecued lamb.

Soraya Kilgore, @sorayakilgore

Pastry chef extraordinaire (and wife of Brad Kilgore) Soraya Kilgore has an Instagram that makes us both hungry and ready to travel the world. As the pastry chef at both Alter and Brava by Brad Kilgore, she creates sweet works of art that are almost too pretty to eat. Throw that in with her jetsetting lifestyle and selfies with husband Brad and it’s an Instagram we can’t keep our eyes off of.

Zak Stern, @zakthebaker

A post shared by Zak The Baker (@zakthebaker) on

He’s got some of the best bread in the city and also one of the best Instagram accounts. Zak Stern constantly entertains us with his funny personal posts and simple clean photos of his breads and deli delights. We love that he even has a special hashtags for posts about his wife (#myreligiouswife), his first born (#abigailthebaker), and his newest baby (#mayamaybel). Every time he posts, we just can’t help but crave carbs.

Peter Vauthy, @chefpetervauthy

Chef Peter’s Instagram is one that will make you work up an appetite. As executive chef of Red Steakhouse, he’s got everything from fancy salads, to massive lobster dishes, and even desserts for days filling up his feed. But really we’re always on the lookout for his bubbling mac and cheese, because it’s undoubtedly one of our favorites — although, the steak isn’t too bad either.
