DORAL — McAlister’s Deli has arrived in Miami. The popular fast casual chain — best known for its sweet tea, salads, and sandwiches — has set up shop in Doral at 2000 NW 87th Avenue #5. It’s now open Sunday through Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays until 10 p.m.
CORAL GABLES — Fast casual, DIY pizza is invading South Florida. The latest to arrive is PizzaRev (130 Miracle Mile), which creates a fully customizable personal-sized, 11" pizza for one price, offering a variety of homemade dough options, sauces, cheeses, and more than 30 different toppings, all assembled a cooked right before the guest’s eyes. This marks the first of 45 PizzaRevs coming to South Florida, so if you don’t live close to this one, odds are, you soon will.
MIAMI RIVER — A restaurant inside a restaurant? That’s the idea of Dashi, the new Japanese restaurant housed inside River Yacht Club (401 SW Third Avenue). Overseeing Dashi’s menu is chef Shuji Hiyakawa — a protégé of none other than Morimoto — who’s created a diverse menu with salads, hot, cold, soups and udons and sushi & sashimi, with dishes like hamachi shabu-shabu salad, miso sea bass, and fresh fish flown in from Japan including selections such as sea bream and horse mackerel crab. The restaurant is now open from 6 to 11 p.m. from Tuesday to Sunday.
SOUTH BEACH - Lobster Bar Sea Grille (404 Washington Avenue) has officially taken over the legendary China Grill space. On the menu expect things like a “live lobster experience” featuring up to four-pound lobsters up for grabs, grilled whole fish, sashimi, ceviche, tartares, house-cured salmon, French tarts, and for the carnivore lovers, plenty of steaks as well. The restaurant is now open daily for dinner starting at 5 p.m.
