After seven years in Downtown Miami, mega chef Daniel Boulud is closing the doors on db Bistro Moderne (255 Biscayne Boulevard Way) to make way for Boulud Sud, which will be taking over the space come this December. The final db Bistro dinner service is scheduled for Saturday, September 30.
The new concept, which already has an outpost in New York City’s Upper West Side, features Mediterranean inspired cuisine with flavors from the Côte d’Azur Spain, Italy, Greece, Morocco, Tunisia, Lebanon, and Turkey. The restaurant even made a pop-up appearance inside Miami last summer at db Bistro.
The Boulud Sud Miami kitchen will be helmed by executive chef Clark Bowen, who has been with the Boulud team for seven years. On the menu will be dishes like octopus a la plancha, lamb flatbread, grilled swordfish, and chicken tagine. As for desserts, the restaurant’s popular Grapefruit Givré topped with sesame halva, rose loukoum and grapefruit sorbet is making its way to the Magic City.
Stay tuned for official opening dates.
