Hurricane Irma Specials Are Happening Today

It’s the calm before the storm, as South Florida residents prepare for Hurricane Irma to make landfall. It’s one of the strongest storms ever recorded in the Atlantic, and many restaurants are already making plans to close now or later in the week (see the list of restaurant closures here). Meanwhile, some restaurants are offering deals to clear out inventory or lift the spirits of hurricane preppers. Here's the hurricane specials Eater has spotted so far:

— Della Bowls’s location at The Wynwood Yard is open today with a buy one get one hurricane special.

— Mignonette is serving $1 oysters all day.

— Ariete is offering specials while it stays open, according to Miami New Times. Offers include a $10 burger, a $3 frita, $8 grilled wings, and a $3 side of fries.

— All drinks at Sunset Tavern’s happy hour are half off from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.
