After seemingly years of waiting, tonight chef Michael Schwartz debuts his latest restaurant, Amara at Paraiso (3101 NE 7th Avenue). Located directly on Biscayne Bay the restaurant features plenty of ocean views and cuisine inspired by Miami and its many cultures.
The kitchen is helmed by executive chef Michael Paley, and its menu is filled with Latin American flavors and several rather trendy josper grilled dishes. Think items like short rib empanadas, shellfish platters, banana leaf wrapped cobia, Brazilian classic Feijoada, grilled lamb ribs, and parrillada.
The beverage program mirrors Amara at Paraiso’s menu, inspired by Latin American ingredients with cocktails that are served on-tap, as single servings or punch bowls, bottled, and shaken or stirred, along with an extensive wine list.
The 4,500-square-foot, indoor-outdoor space designed by Meyer Davis Studio, features floor to ceiling windows, deck seating on the water, along with white washed paneling, graphic concrete tiles with exposed trusses, tropical wallpaper, and an open double-height steel stair.
The restaurant is now open for dinner Monday through Thursday from 6 to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 5 to midnight, and Sunday from 5 to 10 p.m. For reservations call 305-702-5528.
