Employees Only Miami Suddenly Shutters

A shock to the Miami bar world — on one of its biggest nights of the year — is the news that Employees Only Miami has abruptly closed. The outpost of the famed New York City bar took to Facebook late last night with the below announcement.

Hey Miami!

It is with regret and total shock that Employees Only Miami has been closed.

We want to thank you all for your respect, support, love, patronage and enjoyment of what Employees Only brings to the world of hospitality.

As much as our commitment to Miami and the great success of our EO Brand excelled here, with its numerous accolades and beyond amazing staff, negotiations to continue with EO Miami at the Washington Park Hotel property ceased and unfortunately our relationship has abruptly ended.

EMPLOYEES ONLY remains in the hearts and history of its unique ethos standing proud and moving forward and sending love and blessings to all your happy memories.

The bar came to much South Florida with much fanfare in the February 2017 as part of the bar’s world-wide expansion that included outposts in Singapore, Hong Kong and Los Angeles. It kept with the same look and feel that made its New York City counterpart so popular since 2004, including its white-jacketed bartenders, intricately created cocktails, and trademark end-of-the-night chicken noodle soup service.

No word on if the bar will relocate to another location in Miami. Eater Miami has reached out to reps for both Employees Only and Washington Park Hotel for comment, but has not heard back at this time. Stay tuned for more updates.
