David Grutman is getting into the doughnut game when his new eatery Happy Donuts debuts in March at 507 Espanola Way. Teaming up with the founder of Sugar Factory American Brasserie, Charissa Davidovici, the 4,000-square-foot doughnut shop will consist of an indoor café, outdoor patio, shared hotel courtyard and a gummy bear machine.
Happy Place Donuts will feature doughnuts and pastries including hot Happy Dough Balls that are inspired by Italian street fare, rainbow doughnuts, housemade sweet and savory pop tarts, gelato and ice cream in addition to new Swirlies, a mashup of a blizzard and a milkshake that allows guests to pick a topping of choice to swirl into their ice cream flavor. The shop will also feature a specialty line of mojitos that are made to match each doughnut like the Sugar Cane Guava mojito paired the Guava and Cream Cheese doughnut.
Happy Donut will be housed inside Sugar Factory’s upcoming new store, Gummy World. The space will feature white with red accents, tiled floors and dark wood counters. Inside of the 120-seat café, glass panels will allow guests to view the doughnut-making process and the gummy bear machine in action. The gummy bear machine promises to be an attraction itself producing roughly 20,000 gummies per day in custom flavors including rosé, champagne and peach bellini alcohol-infused gummy bears.
Happy Place Donuts and Sugar Factory Gummy World will both be located at 507 Espanola Way in Miami Beach, FL 33139. For more information about Happy Place Donuts and Sugar Factory Gummy World follow @HappyPlaceDonuts on Instagram.
