For those following the news this week, popular rap artist Drake has been in Miami this week and has been on one heck of a spending spree — but with a feel good slant. The latest in Champagne Papi’s good samaritan work was on Tuesday, February 6, when he paid for the grocery’s for everyone shopping at the Sabor Tropical Supermarket (969 Normandy Drive) around 4 p.m., according to E! News.
The rapper walked into the North Bay Village grocery store and announced via megaphone that he was picking up everyone’s grocery bills that was currently in the store shopping at the time. The total bill reportedly rang in at a cool $50,000. According to E! there were cameras on site while this all happened, and patrons heard that it was part of the filming for Drake’s upcoming music video titled “God’s Plan.”
This isn’t Drake’s first do-go activity of the week as he donated $25,000 for new uniforms for a local high school and gifted a lucky University of Miami student $50,000 in tuition. Check out some of the excited grocery shoppers selfies below.
