Aventura Mall’s growing collection of restaurants just announced a new big name to its line up: International Smoke, the restaurant collaboration between lifestyle expert and cookbook author Ayesha Curry (and wife to NBA star, Steph Curry) and chef Michael Mina. The restaurant plans to open this summer in Aventura Mall’s new piazza next to Aventura Slide Tower, the 93-foot-tall spiral structure by artist Carsten Höller.
The first outpost of International Smoke debuted in November in San Fransisco, and while it has tables booked for months in advance the restaurant hasn’t been received all too well by critics. Its features a “globally inspired menu” that reflect Curry’s own Jamaican-Chinese-Polish-African-American background with dishes like curried cornbread, charcoal grilled lobster, barbecue oysters, smoked burrata with brussel sprouts, and ribs.
This is just one of many restaurants headed to the mall in the upcoming months including a new outpost of Tap 42, Belgian bakery-restaurant Le Pain Quotidien, Miami Beach bakery Rosetta Bakery, plus the first Miami location of Figs + Mozzarella by Todd English, and favorites like Shake Shack, Chipotle, My Ceviche, and Poké 305.
