Wynwood’s mega-popular doughnut shop, The Salty Donut, is heading to South Miami and opening its second location inside the spaced that housed Fox’s Sherron Inn (6030 South Dixie Highway) for nearly 70 years, according to The Miami New Times.
The second location is expected to be larger than the original Wynwood outpost at roughly 1,300-square feet, and featuring indoor and outdoor seating, plus a courtyard. Co-founder Andy Rodriguez tells the New Times they expect the space to be open by this summer, with the look and feel of the space will be similar to its Wynwood counterpart.
This is the second location for the company, which started as a pop up in the artsy neighborhood before debuting its brick-and-mortar location in December 2016. The new location will serve a similar menu of doughnuts, which will be brought in from its commercial kitchen in Little River and be delivered to the shop multiple times of day, along with a mix of coffee drinks. Stay tuned for more updates.
