James Beard Award-winning chef Michael Solomonov and his business partner Steven Cook, abruptly closed the doors of their mini hummus chain, Dizengoff, and their fried chicken and doughnut restaurant, Federal Donuts, in Wynwood today.
Reps for the restaurants released the below statement to the press:
Dear Friends,
Dizengoff and Federal Donuts have closed up shop – for now.
The construction that has surrounded us for the last six months was simply too much to bear.
It’s been an honor, Miami. You welcomed us into your community with open arms and gave us the privilege to serve you. We hope to serve you again when the dust settles.
Until we meet again, thank you and toda raba.
The Miami locations marked the fourth location for Dizengoff and the first location for Federal Donuts outside of Philadelphia. Both restaurants opened last summer — after much anticipation and fan fare — within weeks right right next door to each other. Stay tuned for more updates.
