More details have emerged on the upcoming Miami Design District restaurant and lounge, Swan and Bar Bevy, from Pharrell Williams and David Grutman. The duo, along with Grutman’s hospitality group, Groot Hospitality, have tapped Top Chef Europe’s season three winner chef Jean Imbert to create the menu and run the kitchen.
“Pharrell and I decided to partner because of our shared love of hospitality, food, entertainment and making people smile,” David Grutman said. “We both love Jean Imbert, it was only natural that he would be our first choice to design the culinary experience,” says Grutman.
The French chef, who already has several restaurants and several celeb friends, plans to create a “global” menu for Swan filled with dishes found throughout the world — all with a Miami twist and emphasis on clean eating.
As for the interiors, it promises to be an “Instagramable” 13,500-square-foot, indoor-outdoor space designed by Ken Fulk. On the first floor will be Swan, which will take its design cues from its high-end surrounding neighborhood and will feature a horseshoe-shaped bar covered in pewter and pink onyx, along with banquette seating outfitted with picture ledges displaying works by fashion illustrator David Downton. Outdoors will be a garden area with additional seating along with a massive “tree of life” all designed by Raymond Jungles.
Upstairs is Bar Bevy, a lounge and cocktail bar that’ll showcase more of a bohemian vibe with dark wood floors, velvet seating, tapestry-like wallpaper, and brass accents. Outside the rooftop lounge will offer weathered wood seating, Indian fabrics, and the oh-so-important twinkling string lights.
Swan and Bar Bevy are slated to open this November at 90 NE 39th Street. Stay tuned for more updates.
