It’s the end of the line for the popular outdoor culinary incubator, The Wynwood Yard and it seems the neighborhood’s increasing gentrification is to blame. The Miami Herald reported today that the space (56 NW 29th Street) would close in the spring of 2019 to make way for a new mixed development space called Wynwood Green, which will feature apartments, commercial space, and parking. Neighboring O Cinema will be closing as well.

Founded by Della Heiman and Ken Lyon, The Wynwood Yard opened in fall of 2015 to much fanfare and has served as the launching pad for dozens of Miami eateries plus it houses a popular bar and features live music, workshops, and a full-service restaurant, Charcoal Garden + Bar. The duo are in the works to open a similar concept in North Miami Beach in fall 2019 and also own and operate Jackson Hall, which boasts many of the same restaurants as Wynwood Yard.

No final closing date has been announced just yet. Stay tuned for more updates.
