More than two and a half years ago, Eater first reported that Top Chef season 13 winner Jeremy Ford would be debuting a Coconut Grove restaurant called Afishonado. Now details have finally been unveiled about the upcoming project.
Afishonado will be a 7,000-square-foot indoor and outdoor restaurant overlooking Biscayne Bay designed by Celano Design Studio. As the name alludes, the menu will be filled with seafood and it is described as offering a “casual, refined ocean-centric dining experience with coastal cuisine.” The space itself will feature “eclectic elements” with contrasting textures, an open kitchen and raw bar, along with a waterfront cocktail bar.
The restaurant will be housed in a new development called Regatta Harbour, a 100,000-square-feet mixed-use space on Coconut Grove’s waterfront located at 3385 Pan American Drive. As Ford did with his popular South Beach eatery, Stubborn Seed, he has once again teamed with Grove Bay Hospitality Group to bring the restaurant to life.
Afishonado is set to debut sometime in 2020. Stay tuned for more updates.
