Mama Joon Serves Up Vegetable-Centric Mediterranean Fare on South Beach

Housed inside the new Life House Hotel in Collins Park

Up-and-coming Miami Beach neighborhood of Collins Park has a new restaurant to call its own with the debut of Mediterranean newcomer, Mama Joon (2216 Park Avenue).

Inspired from the Lebanese background of Life House founder and CEO, Rami Zeidan, the menu features some of his favorite family recipes alongside Mediterranean dishes with a Miami twist. Think dishes like an extensive mezze platter filled items like marinated chili feta and tabouli; spicy eggplant toast, and roasted cauliflower to start. Larger dishes like lamb chops; meat kofta, and zaa’tar dusted corvina, round out the menu.

“The menu was designed so our guests who want to eat vegetarian can do so and feel the menu was created just for them,” notes Zeidan.

As to drink, the bar at the entrance of the restaurant serves as a coffee and tea spot during the day while at night it transforms in to Mama’s Bar, serving up low ABV spritz cocktails that are inspired by the Mediterranean coastline and feature ingredients like falernum, kaffir lime and herb infused Mastika.

The space boasts a high-ceiling dining room with an outdoor terrace overlooking the waters of Collins Canal. The space is decorated with Persian and Moroccan rugs, macramé and handwoven tapestry, as well as oversized custom hand-spun woven pendants to anchor the space.

Mama Joon is now open daily from 7 a.m. until 11 p.m. with the lounge open until 1:30 a.m. For more information visit www.lifehousehotels.com.
