The mayor of Flavortown himself, Guy Fieri, is coming to South Florida with his fried chicken restaurant, Chicken Guy!, debuting in Aventura Mall (19501 Biscayne Blvd) later this spring. The Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives host made the announcement over the weekend at South Beach Wine and Food Festival, where the eatery was also conveniently on hand at events.
This will mark the second outpost for the counter-service restaurant, which debuted its first location Disney Springs at Walt Disney World last year. As one might surmise from the title, chicken is the star on this menu featuring tenders — grilled or fried — in sandwiches, skewers, or in “meal-sized” salad bowls. To go with all those tenders, guests can choose from 22 different dipping sauces including the usual suspects like buffalo and ranch to the more unique such as curry mayo and, of course, his trademark Donkey Sauce made with roasted garlic, mayo, mustard, worcestershire, and lemon. Rounding out the menu options are dishes like loaded fries, pickle chips, and “flavortown” desserts.
Chicken Guy! will open sometime in the spring of 2019 in the Aventura Mall Treats Food Hall. Stay tuned for more updates.
