Almost four years ago, Eater Miami reported that James Beard award-winning chef and restaurateur Michael Schwartz would be bringing a second restaurant to Coconut Grove — and after plenty of waiting details are finally here. Called Tigertail + Mary it’ll be a vegetable-focused eatery debuting in the neighborhood this spring.
Tigertail + Mary is on the site of new Park Grove development on the ground level of the third tower at 3321 Mary Street at Tigertail Avenue. Not many details about the menu have been released quite yet but reps told Eater that while the eatery won’t be a vegetarian or vegan restaurant, per se, there will be a devoted vegetable section on the menu where the veggies are the star of the dish. Diners can also expect a variety of proteins and seafood plates along with a bakery items available from its walk-up café.
Tigertail + Mary’s space will offer seating for 120, including a bar, main dining room, private dining room and outdoor patio and is inspired by its “its natural surroundings.” Design elements like textured fabrics and other natural pieces will decorate the space, while an open kitchen with a charcoal grill will serve as a focal point.
The restaurant opens in mid-May and will offer breakfast items from its walk-up café with seating at tables in the park, along with lunch, dinner and brunch. Stay tuned for more details.
