Look Around the New All Day Breakfast Spot from the KYU Team

Called Laid Fresh, it takes over the former Federal Donuts space

Miami isn’t exactly known as a breakfast town, but that might change with the addition of newcomer Laid Fresh (250 NW 24th Street), the new egg-centric, all day breakfast spot from the KYU team.

Taking over the space previously occupied by Dizengoff and Federal Donuts (RIP) it’s a new counter service from restaurateurs Steven Haigh and chef Michael Lewis. On the menu expect plenty of egg dishes like an egg sandwich made with sausage and cheese sauce on a potato brioche bun, or soft scrambled eggs with brie and avocado. The menu also includes fried chicken sandwiches, gluten-free options and beignets. Drink choices consist of cans of wine, bubbles and local beer along with “mugs” of mimosas.

The quirky, airy interior has Legos spread out over a communal table along with pockets of lounge seating, headphones that hang from the ceiling playing everything from meditation to heavy metal, and a Miami skyline mural from street artist duo 2Alas known for their black and white, geometric urban murals.

Laid Fresh is now open Tuesday through Sunday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. For more information call 305-699-0601.
