Pubbelly empire mastermind, José Mendín, and his restaurant team, Food Comma Group, are taking their talents to Fort Lauderdale for their latest eatery, Rivertail (315 South Andrews Avenue, Unit 123).
The seafood-focused eatery will take over the former Briny’s Irish Pub space, and marks the restaurant group’s first restaurant in the 954. Rivertail’s menu will boast a variety of small plates and larger family-style dishes like crab doughnuts, lobster flautas, seafood boils, and the Brazilian favorite, moqueca mista.
“Fort Lauderdale’s culinary scene has really evolved into a dining destination. We felt that the area was ready to explore all the best seafood the oceans have to offer,” notes Mendín “Rivertail will be the first opportunity I have had to center a restaurant around seafood.”
For this new venture Mendin teamed up with Breakwater Hospitality’s, the group behind The Wharf Miami and the forthcoming The Wharf Fort Lauderdale. In that vein, it’ll also offer late night dining, bar and lounge seating for riverfront happy hours, and a full raw bar.
Rivertail is slated to open in October 2019. When it does debut it’ll serve lunch and dinner, along with a daily happy hour from 4 to 7 p.m.
