Could this mark the beginning of a new wave of eateries on Lincoln Road? “MediterrAsian” restaurant, lounge, and bar, Mila (stylized MILA), makes its debut in the popular Miami Beach outdoor mall this Friday, January 24, at 800 Lincoln Road.
Founded by Gregory and Marine Galy, the restaurant’s menu aims to bring together Japanese and Mediterranean flavors. The menu was developed by executive chef Nicolas Mazier and offers up items like shawarma-spiced wagyu dumplings, Peekytoe crab daikon rolls with lobster bisque and Ossetra caviar; daurade tartare; Alaskan king crab tempura, and an assortment of nigiri and sashimis.
The space boasts two bars with two different programs created by Jennifer Le Nechet and Mido Yahi. Inside at the main bar are updated takes classic cocktails made with ingredients like butterfly pea tea infused vodka, sesame orgeat syrup, and black walnut bitters. Outside on the terrace is V by Mila (pronounced “five”), is smaller in size and serves up nine different cocktails that are described as “theatrical creations.”
The 13,000-square-foot space features seating for more than 250 people. The 150-seat main room is decorated in earth tones, wooden and canvas furniture, and tear drop pendant lights. On the dining room wall hangs a wooden sculpture with intricate swirling pattern simulating roots carved by artist Etienne Moyat. The outside terrace includes a massive 3,000-square-foot water feature, two cabanas, and plenty of lounge seating. The space even pumps its own proprietary scent through the space dubbed Aroma 360.
”MILA was created with the intent of giving guests a place to slow down, disconnect from the outside world and live in the moment with loved ones,” says co-owner Marine.
Mila will be open Sunday to Wednesday from 6 to 11 p.m. and Thursday through Saturday until midnight. Call 786-706-0744 for more information.
