Ultra swanky, “mindfulness” centric hotel 1 Hotel South Beach (2341 Collins Avenue) has finally debuted its Tulum inspired, open-air venue that features Wave, a seafood restaurant and an outdoor beachfront club with a dedicated members only lounge called the 1 Beach Club.
The space, which is open to members and non-members alike, was originally slated to debut in mid-March, but was delayed due to the coronavirus outbreak that shuttered the restaurant industry for months. The massive open-air space features a large center bar, sprawling daybeds, overstuffed pillows, and natural materials.
The on-site restaurant, Wave, features beach friendly fare like a massive mezze platters; Greek salad; a seafood tower with lobster, mussels, oysters, jumbo shrimp, tuna tartar, and seasonal crab; ceviche; and larger dishes like chicken paillard, porchetta, and bone-in NY steak, alongside creative cocktails that are meant to be sipped outdoors. Every weekend it offers a weekly “Barefoot Brunch” along with programming like yoga classes, spirit card readings, tequlia tastings, and more.
The 1 Beach Club and Wave and is offering reservations only on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 8 p.m. Wave will be open to members, hotel guests, and the public daily from sunrise to 8 p.m.
