One of the original cast members of Iron Chef, Masaharu Morimoto, is opening the doors to his Miami location of his popular ramen eatery Momosan Ramen & Sake (415 NW 26th Street) in Wynwood this Friday, December 18. This will mark the restaurant’s fourth location in the U.S.
As the name implies, this restaurant specializes in ramen offering varieties like tonkotsu ramen, tokyo chicken, tantan, or tsukemen. The menu also includes several grilled dishes and Japanese bar snacks like duck tacos, pan-fried pork gyoza, crispy pig ears, soft shell bao, sticky ribs, spicy wonton in Szechuan sesame chili sauce, and duck fat French fries. Miami-specific options like roast duck and A5 Wagyu beef round out the menu.
The beverage menu features a large sake list, including a selection of Morimoto’s own sake and wine, Japanese whiskey, cocktails, draft and bottled beer including Morimoto beers in collaboration with Rogue Ales.
But this isn’t Morimoto’s first foray into Miami’s food scene. In 2014 he opened his namesake Morimoto restaurant in the Shelbourne Hotel, which closed just after a year in business.
Momosan Ramen & Sake will open to the public on Friday, December 18. It will be open Monday to Thursday and Sunday, from 5 to 10 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 5 to 11 p.m. Book here.
