The team behind Downtown Miami’s Meraki Greek Bistro has debuted their second eatery in the neighborhood: Miami Diner (140 SE 1st Avenue), a retro-inspired American diner that focuses on comfort food dishes.
On the menu guests can find a wide assortment of items, many with a Miami twist. Breakfast offerings include a selection of eggs Benedict platters, omelets, daily potato soufflés, waffles topped with everything from Nutella to Oreos, and more. Lunch and dinner options feature jalapeño poppers and fried mushrooms; burgers; sub sandwiches from the classic pastrami and Italian to crab and Philly cheesesteak; salads like the halloumi green salad and entrees like salmon filet skewers and meat lasagna.

Like any proper diner, it also boasts an extensive milkshake menu with creations like the Munchies Milkshake, CBD oil-infused with mint and chocolate chip ice cream topped with whipped cream, chocolate chips, and brownie or mint chocolate Kit Kat bar and the Guayaba y Queso Crema Milkshake with guava and cream cheese ice cream topped with whipped cream and mango guava cheesecake. Classic soda floats are also available. For more adult beverages, it offers a variety of local beers and wines. A full-service bar with liquor will launch later this winter including a Bloody Mary bar.
In the retro-inspired space, guests are greeted by a custom “Greetings From Miami” postcard-inspired mural by local artist Cliff Johnson. A refurbished Seeburg jukebox is worked into the design of the mural as well. The 1,300 square foot restaurant has 65 seats inside plus an additional 25 on the patio space outside and boasts black and white checkered flooring, turquoise vinyl bar stools and chairs, neon LED lights inside and out, black vinyl booths, and an exterior layer of stainless steel siding.
The restaurant is now open Monday through Thursday 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday 7 a.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Call 786-536-2400 for more info.
