Chef Henry Hane, owner and executive chef of B Bistro + Bakery, has officially debuted his latest restaurant Jatto, housed in the former Alter space in Wynwood. The restaurant’s showcasing flavors from all over the world including Thailand, Peru, Cuba, and Italy.
“While the menu features many global inspirations, I am especially excited to draw influence from my Peruvian background,” said Hane. “We will also collaborate with local partners George Stone Crab, Frice Ice Cream, Zak the Baker and Coconut Cartel. Every small business makes this city so magical and we are proud to welcome them in our home.”
For the opening menu highlights include stone crab causa made with acevichado sauce, avocado, egg yolk fudge, choclo chalacita; a soft egg Benedict topped with hollandaise, bacon, panela and tamarind gel, smoked paprika dust; leek confit topped with cashew cream romesco and leek ash; huancaina chicken with canary beans, quinoa and criolla slaw; and affogato colada with sorbet, condensed milk foam, colada syrup.
As for beverages, expect updated spins on classic cocktails like passionfruit pisco sours or a Negroni made with rum, koji cured banana infused sweet vermouth, and coconut washed campari; alongside a variety of natural wines and local beers. The sleek industrial space features plenty of greenery, an interactive chef’s tables looking into the open kitchen, large patio, and outdoor bar.
Jatto is located 223 NW 23rd Street in Wynwood and is open Tuesday to Thursday from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. and Friday and Saturdays from 6 p.m. to midnight. For more information call 305-982-8960.
